With deep expertise in manned and unmanned undersea systems and operations, the ProteQ team provides its clients with functional expertise ranging across technician, engineering, operations, and executive leadership.OverviewProteQ is seeking a Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) Training Specialist to support the Naval Special Warfare Expeditionary Support Facility in San Diego, CA.ResponsibilitiesInstructor of basic and advanced operation and maintenance courses for Short Endurance (SE)and Long Endurance (LE) USVs in various configurations.Technician performing basic, intermediate, and advanced (including depot-level) maintenance and troubleshooting on SE and LE USVs in various configurations.Operator of SE and LE USVs to include sea testing and data collection and analysis.Maintainer of maintenance logs, mission logs, inventory, and configuration management of USVs and auxiliary equipment.Small boat coxswain for USV missions, including safe launch and recovery of USVs.Operator to support expeditionary and operational requests for short (one month) travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations.Creating briefs, status reports, lesson plans, and training curriculum and related training documents.And other tasks as assigned by the Project Lead.Required QualificationsAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.Experience as an instructor, trainer or teacher.Experience with maritime unmanned systems.Experience writing technical documents including standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and test procedures.Experience with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to create lesson plans and training curricullums.Ability to carry with a second person, two person-portable USVs.Ability to launch and recover USVs from boat, pier or shore.Ability to take initiative, work well with a team, and learn quickly.Desired QualificationsActive Secret clearance.Small boat maintenance experience.Knowledge of basic electronic troubleshooting.Bachelor's degree or higher, or previous experience as a USV Training Specialist.At least one year of experience as a Team Lead for USV operations.At least two years of experience operating and maintaining USV systemsCommercial or scientific scuba diving experience.Previously qualified small boat coxswain or Coast Guard licensed.Experience operating or maintaining USVUS Navy Master Training Specialist or similar qualificationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law
