- Conduct comprehensive health evaluations and assessments of individuals undergoing military processing.
- Perform physical examinations, taking medical history, and evaluating applicants' physical and mental health status.
- Assess eligibility of applicants based on Department of Defense (DoD) medical standards.
- Interpret laboratory results, imaging, and other diagnostic tests to determine candidates' fitness for military service.
- Diagnose common medical conditions and provide appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and manage common health issues in accordance with military protocols.
- Provide health education on topics such as nutrition, lifestyle, and preventive care to applicants.
- Counsel applicants on the implications of their health status and potential impact on their military career.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists, when necessary, for further evaluation of health concerns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with military regulations and healthcare protocols in all documentation.
- Stay current with Department of Defense policies, regulations, and standards related to medical processing.
- Participate in training and education to improve knowledge of military health guidelines and required competencies.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance healthcare delivery.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Be prepared to act quickly and effectively in emergency medical situations, providing critical care as needed.
- Pursue ongoing education to maintain licensure and stay updated on advancements in healthcare practices and military medicine.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
- One year experience in the last two years prior to contract execution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
- Certifications must be issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.
- Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Residency institutions must have been ACGME accredited during the time the member was enrolled. ECFMG is required for graduates of medical schools located outside the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada.
- Contract workers who are graduates of foreign medical schools will possess both a U.S. medical license and certification by ECFMG for health care physicians.
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending/stooping, kneeling, twisting.
- Visual acuity. Minimal hearing loss.
- Push/pull/carry minimum 50 lbs.
