Long-Term Contract: $40-$45 per hourOur client is seeking an experienced F5 Systems Engineer to join their team as part of the Network Operations Services team. The F5 Systems Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available applications solutions that will be deployed across multiple data centers.This exciting opportunity will further a career in IT Infrastructure Operations and allow for the building of new skills and experiences as the right candidate will lead the bank transformation from on-premise data center operations into a hybrid-cloud setup via a platform refresh. The F5 Systems Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure, supporting our mission to provide reliable and secure financial services.The F5 Systems Engineer will:
· Operate, maintain, and optimize operations of F5 platform equipment (including patching/BIG-IP TMOS version management, Vulnerability remediation, bug fixes, performance evaluation & reporting, strategy and vision for lifecycle management)
· Provide customer service to internal stakeholders to understand project requirements to design technical solutions that meet business needs/objectives (Virtual IP set-up and implementation, load balancing, decommissioning activities, troubleshooting, ServiceNow Catalog Tasks & other requests)
· Interface in planning sessions with other IT Infrastructure teams to support internal projects, migration efforts, etc. to ensure minimal disruptions to normal business operations.
· Define & Implement IT Controls, Key Metrics (KPI/KRI) and execute IT Asset Management activities in the perimeter security space.
· Will support 24/7 on-call rotations (nights/weekends) to provide incident resolution and other troubleshooting/IT Service Management needs & other duties as assigned by Network Operations Services Manager
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on F5 technologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; a combination of education and experience may meet qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with load balancing technologies, encryption methodologies, and security principles within F5 products: Local Traffic Manager (LTM), Access Policy Manager (APM), ApplicationSecurity Manager (ASM), Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, and routing protocols like BGP
- Advanced understanding of physical & virtual F5 architecture and device administration, including creation and maintenance of standards, policies, procedures, and configuration documentation
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform under pressure
- Experience in datacenter operations, firewall administration, DNS/DHCP/IPAM management, and working within the ServiceNow platform
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Automation proficiency is a plus - including scripting and pipeline development using Python, Ansible, and Azure DevOps
- Industry certifications such as Network+, F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator, or F5 Certified Technology Specialist are preferred
