- Establishes strategies, systems and controls to support company and customer objectives in the areas of Quality Assurance/Compliance
- Establishes and reports key Quality performance metrics and provides leadership support to assigned sites to ensure scorecard objectives are met
- Develops and manages overarching Quality framework, which utilizes assessment, training, and monitoring techniques to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, and independent agency standards
- Establishes and assures implementation of company-wide Quality programs
- Provides overall guidance on elevated Quality concerns and operational improvement opportunities working with key stakeholders and implementing corrective actions
- Oversees the external/internal audit processes and supports site Quality representative responsible for executing any needed corrective action to address audit deficiencies
- Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the Quality function, working closely with direct reports
- Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in quality roles, with at least 5 in a leadership position within manufacturing (corrugated industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of quality tools (Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, etc.) and regulatory standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Deep understanding of ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other quality standards.
- Corrugated Manufacturing Processes: Familiarity with raw materials, converting processes, printing, die-cutting, and finishing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
- Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), capability studies, and data-driven decision-making.
- Supplier Quality Management: Understanding of vendor qualification, audits, and incoming material inspection.
- Leadership & Team Management: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor staff, and drive a culture of quality.
- Problem-Solving: Strong root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for reporting, training, and cross-department collaboration.
- Project Management: Ability to manage quality improvement projects, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in quality tools (FMEA, Pareto, Fishbone, 5 Whys), and software like Minitab, ERP/QMS systems.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align quality goals with business objectives and long-term strategy.
- Analytical Thinking: Capable of interpreting complex data and making sound decisions based on analysis.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation, inspections, and compliance checks.
- Adaptability: Able to respond to changing customer demands, production challenges, and regulatory updates.
- Influence & Negotiation: Ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate quality expectations with suppliers and customers.
- Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
