Exciting opportunity for experienced professionals in the paper manufacturing industry to lead and innovate with a top-tier company. We are actively seeking a forward-thinking Fiber Superintendent to oversee our Stock Prep Department. This role is not just a job; it's a pathway to grow, make impactful decisions, and drive excellence within our operations.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Fiber Superintendent, you will be at the heart of our production operation, ensuring seamless and efficient processes round the clock. Your crucial responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Operational Oversight: Proactively troubleshoot fiber issues, oversee labor relations, manage schedules, and assist with maintenance to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Vigilantly enforce safety protocols and suggest improvements to enhance stock throughput without compromising on quality or safety.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with symbiotic departments and lead a team of 7 salaried employees, driving them towards operational excellence.
  • Strategic Planning: Track stock trends and inventories, and perform regular checks on equipment for optimal performance.
  • Process Improvement: Participate and lead in developing and managing capital and maintenance projects. Spearhead initiatives for continuous improvement in safety, cost reduction, productivity, and quality.
  • Emergency Coverage: Partake in the mill's on-call responsibilities during weekends and weeknights, providing coverage for assistant superintendent/supervisor vacancies as needed.
QualificationsBackground/Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in paper making operations.
  • At least 5 years as a paper machine supervisor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record in driving continuous improvement and adaptability to change.
Education/Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Technical discipline.
Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication expertise.
