Offshore Gas Engine and Marine Diesel Service Technicians

• Base Location: Morgan City or New Iberia, Louisiana
• Flexible shift work schedules are available. Technicians may work 14/14, 14/7, or another agreed-upon schedule. Technicians should expect to work 12-hour days, although workdays may be longer or shorter, depending upon assignment and need.
• SHIFT SCHEDULE: 50+ hour shift schedule; may require working hours outside standard work schedule for customer emergency calls (specifics discussed during interview)
• TRAVEL: Frequent travel to customer sites with overnight stays including international travel (specifics discussed during interview)
• Compensation range is $60,000 - $120,000 yearly. The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime.
• This range is based on a technician's experience, skills, education, and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated daily after 8 hours worked. Technicians are paid an hourly wage for each hour worked. Overtime is paid for more than 40 hours worked in a pay period.
• Technicians are not paid during their time off or when travelling to and from home. Housing will be provided at no cost to the employee.

• You will be responsible service and repairs of marine/natural gas engines & generators.
• You will provide excellent mechanical troubleshooting & diagnostic assessments to help deliver best-in-class gas engine service repairs for our customers
• You will analyze, troubleshoot, test and verify adjustments of marine engine & generator components to determine reusability in accordance to Caterpillar guidelines

• Expert knowledge of Caterpillar natural gas engines ranging from G3300 - G3600, electrical systems, controls, etc.
• Understanding full functionality of Adem III & Adem IV controls
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical failure analysis
• Fully understand the performance of Caterpillar Gas Compression engines or Marine engines and generators

• Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment with respect to co-workers and customers
• Safely work offshore for rotational or extended period of time
• Fill out a detailed JSA that follows Louisiana Cat standards
• Perform all essential duties requested by Supervisor
• Demonstrate expert troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues
• Perform any scheduled or unscheduled maintenance without any technical assistance
• Create a detailed report of initial and final conclusions
• Provide professional customer service and effectively communicate issues or findings to customer
• Lead a team performing Major Maintenance or Overhauls in the field (land or offshore)
• Tune & adjust engine for proper emissions regulations and fuel efficiency
• Efficiently utilize Cat SIS WEB & ET
• Install Factory Passwords and Flash Files
• Perform Engine Alignment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds from floor to chest.
• Ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts.
• Ability to endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations.
• Must be able to exert push/pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools.
• Must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations.
• Must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts.
• Must have the ability to climb onto and operate equipment.
• Must have the ability to operate and maintain a field service vehicle with GVW of less than 26,000 lbs.

• Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium, with occasional loudness when equipment is running.
