- Evaluating skill sets and defines training needs necessary to grow the crew and Foremen competence
- Maintaining strict discipline and adherence to Safety and Security policies
- Enforcing all company policies and work rules
- Following all company Work Instructions and (SOP) Standard Operation Procedures
- Drives LEAN Manufacturing and 5S Principles to improve productivity and performance
- Assigning and monitoring work assignments of crew and Foreman, accessing physical progress daily
- Challenges the crew and Foremen daily, sets clear performance goals, objectives, and expectations
- Clears obstacles that are affecting performance
- Enters labor charges into payroll system daily
- Manages Work Orders and reports accurate progress to Planning
- Takes ownership of parts and manages materials assigned to your Work Orders
- Monitors and reports out on performance metrics to the Area Manager/Directors
- Works with Planning in production control projects to move work to the appropriate SOC
- Plans overtime and schedules resources to support
- Completes Safety Observations weekly
- Understands and works within, CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) works closely with the Foreman to assure uniform understanding
- Resolve disputes, misunderstandings, enforces policy and disciplines as appropriate
- Other duties, as assigned
- Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of trade experience.
- Three (3) years of management experience is required.
- Preference is given to those with experience in a manufacturing or shipbuilding environment.
- An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
- Experience with systems such as EVMS, Baan, or a Time and Attendance Timekeeping software is a plus.
- Essential to this position is the ability to lead, direct, coach, and discipline employees in alignment with Company processes, policies, and procedures.
