Our client is seeking a highly analytical and systems savvy Project Controller with a flair for FP&A. This role serves as the key financial advisor for project and business unit decision-making, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, robust forecasting, and cost control. The ideal candidate is equally skilled in financial strategy and operational detail, with a deep understanding of SAP (or like ERP system), US GAAP and project accounting.Key Responsibilities POC Accounting & Revenue RecognitionOversee revenue and cost recognition under percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting in compliance with US GAAP.Validate project milestones, cost-to-complete estimates, and revenue timing.Financial ManagementPerform cost modeling, margin validation, and impact analysis of engineering changes/customization.Provide actionable financial insights to guide business decisions and align outcomes with corporate objectives.Services Financial OversightTrack the financial performance of T&M, fixed-price, and recurring contracts.Monitor labor productivity, material usage, and post-delivery impacts.Forecasting & PlanningDevelop and maintain accurate financial forecasts for projects and OPEX at the business unit level.Continuously update forecasts based on scope, cost structure, and resource changes.OPEX Analysis & ForecastingAnalyze operating expenses, spending trends, and cost drivers.Partner with functional leaders to optimize OPEX and ensure profitability targets are met.Project Risk & Opportunity ManagementIdentify and assess financial risks and opportunities across the portfolio.Recommend mitigation strategies to protect financial outcomes.Reporting & Performance AnalysisDeliver regular financial reports, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses.Provide executive summaries with insights on cost, margin, backlog health, and forecast accuracy.Budgeting & Cost ControlSupport annual and project-level budgeting processes.Monitor and control expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Services, and Operations to align strategies and execution.Compliance & Internal ControlsEnsure adherence to company policies, SOX/internal controls, and US GAAP.Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.Continuous ImprovementDrive process improvements in financial reporting, cost tracking, and forecasting automation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.5+ years of project financial management experience, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, or services.Strong knowledge of US GAAP, POC accounting, and revenue recognition.Strong understanding of ERP and financial planning tools.Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools a plus.Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
