Exotics Veterinary Assistant

• Four 9-hour shifts per week, Monday - Thursday

• $16.50 - $20

• Work closely with our veterinary team to provide outstanding patient care, both independently and collaboratively.
• Assist with patient exams, including setting up equipment, taking histories, animal restraint (training provided if needed), radiographs, administering take-home instructions, filling prescriptions, and scheduling appointments.
• Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in-person, providing clear, friendly guidance.
• Prepare exam rooms, record vital signs, weight, and other essential patient information.
• Support daily animal care, including feeding, walking, bathing, and maintaining clean living spaces.
• Ensure smooth admissions and discharges, including proper identification, IV catheter removal, and returning all belongings to owners.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment, including treatment areas, exam rooms, and supply rooms.
• Stock supplies and assist with deliveries to ensure the clinic runs efficiently.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and actively contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a cooperative, positive, and professional attitude.
• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping pets and their owners.
• Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time management abilities.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn a medical record system.
• You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills aimed at establishing long lasting, positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
• You are able to work well independently and in a team environment, leading by example and holding oneself accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
• You exhibit flexibility, dependability, responsibility, and possesses excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people who share that same value
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
