Job Title: Forklift OperatorShift: 3rd Shift (Mon-Fri 10:00pm-6:00am)Hourly Rate: $18/HRPosition Overview:The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial lift trucks to move, load, unload, and organize materials within warehouses, storage areas, and production facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, equipment maintenance, and compliance with operational standards.Key Responsibilities:Forklift Operation & Material Handling:
  • Safely operate forklifts and industrial trucks to lift, stack, transport, and position materials, equipment, or products.
  • Load and unload materials from pallets, skids, trailers, or other lifting devices in areas such as leaf processing, shipping, receiving, or off-site warehouses.
  • Load outgoing products onto tractor trailers in accordance with shipping schedules.
  • Weigh materials or products, recording weights on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Organize and stack materials in designated areas to maintain an efficient material flow.
Daily Equipment Inspections & Maintenance:
  • Perform and complete pre-operation checklists to ensure equipment is in proper working condition before each shift.
  • Immediately report any malfunctions or safety concerns to the Facilities Maintenance team.
  • Monitor and document lift truck usage and maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Report all incidents, including near-misses or safety violations, to the supervisor promptly.
Important: Forklift Operators are subject to random toxic substance audits in accordance with company policy.General Duties & Support:
  • Operate industrial floor sweeper when required.
  • Support production areas by assisting with activities such as replacing cartons, strapping pallets, scanning cases, or other material-handling duties.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and organized condition, adhering to 5S3R standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager to support daily warehouse and production operations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).
  • Proven experience operating forklifts or similar industrial trucks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and operational protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping labels, tags, and weight indicators.
  • Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, stacking, and organizing materials.
Working Conditions:
  • Physical role requiring lifting, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.
  • Work may be performed in production facilities, warehouses, and outdoor storage areas.
  • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required.
  • May involve shift work, overtime, or weekend hours as needed.
