4) Buffing and wetting sandEssential Responsibilities and Tasks to Manage:
- Prepare vehicles for painting and supervise Painters and paint jobs
- Prepare the vehicle using protective materials to prevent overspray of bed liner spray and/or paint.
- Inspect vehicles for damage and clean/prepare surface to meet preparation criteria.
- Remove masking material, clean and inspect for any defects or imperfections.
- Ensure that completed work meets quality standards.
- Perform final setup inside spray booth.
- Perform minor repairs as necessary to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain and properly safeguard all shop painting/spraying tools and equipment.
- Work safely.
- Comply with all safety rules, particularly those dealing with working in confined spaces or in service pits.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe storage room, mixing room, and work area.
- Use shop equipment and tools safely.
- Wear required personal protective equipment: breathing apparatus, clothing, footwear, gloves, masks, safety glasses, etc.
- Dispose of paints, paint container, and any hazardous wastes properly
- Report all accidents immediately.
- Support cross-training efforts through periodically working in the body shop.
- Actively participate in department and company-wide continuous improvement efforts.
