You will work alongside our existing team of highly skilled quantitative hydrogeologists and engineers that comprise GHD's North American Groundwater Modelling Team (the North American Groundwater Modelling Team members currently work out of the GHD offices located in Waterloo, ON and Vancouver, BC). This position provides the opportunity to support the existing Contaminated Site and Remediation, Environmental Permitting, and Hydrogeology Teams within GHD's US West Region. You will support developing and executing hydrogeologic investigations, characterization, groundwater resource, and remedial design projects working across all of GHD's North America Regions and Globally.In the problem solving business, it helps to be restlessly curious to deliver community change.Our vision is to ensure energy, water and urbanisation are made sustainable for generations to come.   • Developing and applying groundwater flow and fate/transport models to solve environmental and water resources challenges for projects located throughout North America and Globally
  • Problem Solving involving literature review and research to explain unique/non-standard environmental challenges
  • Data compilation, reduction, and preliminary interpretation, including water quality results, hydraulic response testing data analysis, water balance model, contaminant migration and impact assessment analysis
  • Hydrogeologic Characterization, Interpretation and Evaluation
  • Evaluation of geochemical conditions with respect to contaminant fate in the subsurface
  • Project task coordination
  • Prepare modelling documentation, technical memoranda, and design reports
  • May also involve some field work on a limited basis
What you will bring to the team:
  • Well developed analytical skills are a requirement of this position
  • Previous experience with Surfer, Grapher, MODFLOW (and its family of codes such as MODPATH and MT3DMS) and FEFLOW is required
  • Experience with coding (e.g., Python, R, Visual Basic, C++, Fortran) is required
  • GIS experience is required
  • Experience with geostatistical interpretation and geological modeling using LEAPFROG or equivalent software is required
  • Attention to detail at the highest level
  • Research skills
  • Creative problem solving skills and critical analysis
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and hard-working
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors & Masters' degree in Engineering and/or Earth Sciences
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience working within the hydrogeology and groundwater modelling industries
