- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components to support manufacturing operations.
- Analyze inventory levels, usage patterns, and lead times to optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Monitor and track the status of purchase orders, expedite deliveries as necessary, and resolve any supply chain issues that may impact production schedules.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times, and establish strong relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply of materials.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Prepare and analyze reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, stockouts, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement and maintain lean principles and best practices in inventory management, including 5S, JIT (Just-in-Time), and Kanban systems.
- Provide support and guidance to cross-functional teams on MRP-related issues, including training and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to materials management and procurement.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
- Previous experience working as an MRP Planner or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Proficiency in MRP systems and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, with a strong understanding of inventory planning and materials management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements preferred.
