
Field Application Engineer - Automotive Ethernet Hardware

In your new role you will:
- Drive and assist the sales team to win key designs with Infineon Automotive Solutions.
- Assist our Sales team through preparation and delivery of technical presentations and statements of work by matching
- specific client business requirements with effective technical solutions
- Review customer schematics and layout
- Hands-on bring-up and debug of customer boards
- Support customer lab and field trials, proof of concepts, and Engineering studies
- Closely follow and check customer technical issues, providing remote and on-site troubleshooting
- Develop and understanding of the customer application environment and provide insightful advice
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience
- Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5-10 years of experience
- Must live in the San Jose Area
- Relevant experience in applications engineering, board development, or system level design and architecture
- Knowledge of Ethernet Transceivers, Ethernet Switching, and networking architectures
- In depth knowledge of a programming language: C or Python
- In depth knowledge on device drivers, APIs etc,
- Knowledge of high speed SerDes (*GMII, XFI/SFI, PCIe) protocols
- Experience with schematic capture and layout tools
- Experience with lab debug equipment including oscilloscopes and network analyzers
- Strong influence and excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate efficiently (written and verbal) in a multicultural environment
- Knowledge of Automotive MDI interfaces 100Base-T1, 1000Base-T1, NBASE-T1 (multi-gig) Automotive EMC testing experience
- Automotive experience working with OEMs, Tier 1s, and automotive quality teams
- Have worked with functional safety analysis, FMEA, and FMEDA

Maximum of $217,140.00 Salary per yearIn addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
