Position overview: The third-shift Production Supervisor manages daily operations on the production line, ensuring adherence to safety, food-safety, and production standards. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role supervises staff, oversees performance management, and maintains compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. The supervisor leads shift activities, drives process improvements, and supports targets for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Promote and enforce a high standard of safety awareness, ensure training completion, and hold personnel accountable for unsafe behavior.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise shift operations and work practices to meet safety, performance, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain business processes and documentation in support of food safety audits, regulatory obligations, and internal control reviews.
  • Lead staffing functions including hiring, coaching, performance management, and development planning.
  • Deliver shift-level key performance indicators for safety, quality, cost, and service.
  • Execute daily management routines such as team meetings, shift handovers, setting direction, visual controls, and status boards.
  • Ensure equipment, personnel, and materials are prepared to meet the production schedule and anticipated needs.
  • Develop effective production teams through consistent communication and ongoing coaching.
  • Analyze causes of variances and scrap to implement corrective actions that improve efficiency and utilization.
  • Coach employees on proper techniques and confirm competency for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain and monitor prerequisite systems to ensure accurate and consistent documentation.
  • Identify problems, coordinate cross-functional meetings, and drive implementation of solutions affecting safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Verify production-line readiness at start-up and during changeovers and communicate with other departments to resolve issues and maintain standards.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and analyze performance data to identify business opportunities.
