In addition to HIL system design, the engineer will be responsible for testing and validating inverter controller software to ensure robust performance and compliance with system requirements.Responsibilities:
- Architect and maintain HIL systems for embedded controller validation.
- Develop plant models in MATLAB/Simulink representing power converter topologies.
- Integrate models with platforms like Opal-RT, Speedgoat, or dSPACE.
- Ensure reliable hardware interfaces, including signal conditioning and I/O mapping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align HIL setups with control and software requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in real-time execution and model fidelity.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations and update procedures.
- Design and execute test plans for inverter controller software using HIL platforms.
- Analyse test results and support debugging of control algorithms and embedded code.
- Ensure traceability between software requirements and HIL test coverage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related STEM field.
- 3–5 years of experience in HIL system design and real-time simulation.
- Strong command of MATLAB/Simulink for model-based development.
- Hands-on experience with Opal-RT or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of inverter/converter control using IGBT, SCR, and SiC devices.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (CAN, SPI, UART, Ethernet).
- Experience in testing embedded software for power electronics applications.
- Experience with Simulink Real-Time or RT-LAB.
- Knowledge of sensor and actuator emulation.
- Background in Locomotive Drives, Locomotive electrical controls, industrial drives, automotive systems, or renewable energy.
