In this role, the Sr. Machinist will manufacture components of extrusion tooling and do machining work that supports other departments. This position also assists Die Makers in the assembly and tuning of extrusion tooling.What You'll Do:
Operate machine tools including lathes, mills, drills, grinders and saws (Non- CNC)
Die and Sizer work as assigned by Die Makers
Machine replacement parts for Production Maintenance
Sharpen grinder blades for PVC grinders used by compounding
Maintenance and repair work on vacuum mist tanks, calibrators and extruders
Maintenance and repair work on extrusion line notchers
Secondary operations on rails and sizer boxes machined by the CNC group
Training and assigning work to junior machinists and machinists' helpers
What You Bring:
Must be proficient at operating and trouble-shooting all Machines in the Toolroom.
Ability to solve complex problems by utilizing fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, statistics, and geometry.
College or trade school (preferred)
Preferred formal machine trades training
