- Meets and interacts with all the residents.
- Performs clerical tasks: Typing, record keeping, correspondence, and filing.
- Keeps track of deadlines for shows, trips, and appointments.
- Writes, creates, and posts flyers and special announcements.
- Assists with development and finished product of the monthly newsletter.
- Use of car to run necessary errands.
- Operates A/V equipment to broadcast movies through the designated cable channel and the projector.
- Works with certain resident committees and volunteers to accomplish goals.
- Accompanies residents on certain trips and theater outings.
- Develops and follows through on specific projects designated by Director
- Coordinate and host all special events, including holiday events. Decorate community according to current holiday or event.
- Purchases and initiates ideas for decorations. Maintain an adequate supply of equipment for regular activities, keeping within budgetary guidelines.
- Practice infection control technique and good hand washing practice before and after all activities.
- Takes charge of craft and other creative areas when necessary.
- Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Director.
- Coordinate and promote activities involving other departments with the appropriate department leader.
- Covers for weekend and evening programs as needed.
- Develop knowledge of community policies, procedures and state/federal regulations pertaining to activity programming.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years' experience in recreational activity programs-Preferred
- Experience working in the senior population-Preferred
- Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, and other computer systems/programs.
- Possess excellent written, verbal, math, proofreading and interpersonal skills.
- Efficient in adhering to deadlines.
- Creative in decorating for events and other activities.
- Multitask oriented; must be organized, dependable, and willing to take on extra responsibility.
- Must be customer-oriented and friendly.
- REQUIRED-Possess current, or has ability to obtain, the following:
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Food handler's card
- CPR certification
- ADOT certification
