- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys specializing in litigation matters.
- Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Coordinate with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in litigation proceedings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, organizing evidence, and coordinating witness schedules.
- Schedule depositions, meetings, and court appearances.
- Handle electronic filing (e-filing) and service of court documents in both state (DC, MD and VA) and federal courts
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and other appointments.
- Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, and reminders.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Creating and maintaining pleadings
- Provide support to other members of the legal team as needed.
- A bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant litigation experience. Strong knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort and skill in speaking with clients.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management software, and able to effectively use other litigation software.
- Proven legal research skills; proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis or Westlaw is preferred.
