
Facilities Coordinator III

- Manages property through the ordering and installation of equipment. Acts as surplus equipment and furniture coordinator, handling recyclable materials and sharps containers.
- Manages personnel actions to include time reports, leave request approvals, and annual evaluations. Provides appropriate professional development opportunities for facilities staff.
- Coordinates and prepares required work orders for electrical, plumbing, custodial, carpentry, key, and sign shops to perform work required to maintain facilities for instructional use.
- Assists staff and faculty with facility requests, including furniture/equipment moving and assembling, office painting, building renovations, mounting bulletin boards, replacing light bulbs, delivering paper, etc.
- Assists in maintenance and repair of Farm Equipment.
- Assists in building ang grounds maintenance and ensuring safety and security of equipment buildings.
- Promotes safe building access practices for faculty, staff, and student workers, providing reminders as necessary and reporting incidents or accidents when required if safety rules are compromised.
- Reports and schedules fire drills and emergency evacuation drills. Serves as primary contact for after-hours building emergencies.
- Schedules maintenance on University departmental vehicles. Tags new acquisitions and proper disposal of unusable furniture/equipment. Maintains accurate inventory records and performs annual departmental inventory certification for submission to Property Management. Coordinates requests for rekeying entry access and requests for additional keys to a location.
- Serves as the liaison for the University with outside vendors for maintenance and repairs at facilities. Assists, as needed, on future growth and building development for the University.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of related experience in facilities, building maintenance, facilities construction scheduling and inventory or related area.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to promptly respond to on-site emergency calls.
- Collegiality and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to promptly respond in person, on site, to after-hours building emergencies.
