- As a paraprofessional, assists in the FOID Card Review Board Petition for Review program.
- Maintains a case management database or other system for tracking records of the FOID Card Review Board.
- Serves as liaison with the FOID Card Review Board for Petitioners requesting action by the Board Communicates requirements for additional information to petitioners as requested by the FOID.
- Provides general office management and support services to the Legal Office.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college and one year of office experience, or completion of high school and three years of office experience, or three years of independent business experience.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at a minimum of 30 words per minute.
- Qualifying state employees, in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for
- Prefers two years’ experience working with state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to firearm possession.
- Prefers two years’ experience applying the principles and practices of public administration.
- Prefers one year experience working within the JCAR process.
- Prefers a working knowledge of the State of Illinois Procurement Code and processes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with utilizing Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Successfully pass background investigation.
- Successfully pass drug screen.
