Corporate Accounting Manager, CPA - Our Client is seeking a strong Accounting Manager for their Headquarters located here in Orange County. This role leads a team that handles key transactional activities, including exception-based entries, system-to-ledger reconciliations, and daily cash processing. The manager directs day-to-day operations, establishes and evaluates internal controls, and ensures adherence to operational policies and compliance standards. Position will have regular collaboration and engagement across business, finance, and accounting partners to support timely and accurate financial reporting. The role also plays a critical part in identifying and implementing process improvements and system enhancementsWe are ideally seeking someone with experience from public accounting, CPA license, and private industry experience. Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years related work experience from larger companies.
  • CPA and public accounting are strong plus
  • Must have strong GAAP knowledge, and experience in financial statement preparation in a high-volume environment.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and ability to deliver results presentations.
Responsibilities:
  • Directs a staff of 5, comprised of accountants and specialists who perform system to ledger reconciliations, research discrepancies, propose and/or transact correcting entries and perform daily cash related entries.
  • Establish and report metrics to measure productivity and staffing level requirements.
  • Work with team to identify opportunities for improvement and implement process changes, leveraging an agile working environment to maximize efficiency gains.
  • Analyzes staff and department effectiveness, translates strategic direction from senior leadership into actionable goals for the team, and develops processes to maximize productivity.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains staff, develops work schedules, establishes performance expectations, reviews employee performance and provides guidance and direction through regular one on one meetings. Sets continuous learning objectives, leading by example.
  • Lead day-to-day governance and reconciliation activities, enforce reconciliation policies, and partner with leadership to identify and prioritize standardization and optimization opportunities; own KPIs related to compliance, transaction matching, and reconciliation completeness.
  • Financial statement preparation, analysis, and detailed monthly & quarterly reporting.
  • Strong general ledger month end close for multiple entities, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Oversee all account & bank reconciliations.
  • Set and comply with internal controls, policies & procedures.
  • The salary for this position is commensurate with experience but is in the range of $125,000 to $145,000 base, plus strong bonus and great benefits.
  • Strong excel large ERP systems (Oracle or SAP ideal)
