The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.Job DescriptionThe MSNBC Newsgathering team is seeking a Production Coordinator to support newsroom operations and logistics based in Los Angeles. This role works closely with producers, managers, and assignment editors to ensure coverage runs smoothly and serves as the point person for Los Angeles Bureau needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced news environment.Responsibilities
  • Support producers, managers, and assignment editors in daily news operations.
  • Book travel for reporters, producers, and on-air talent.
  • Work with newsgathering personnel to book field crews and schedule studios.
  • Manage logistics for news coverage, including transportation, equipment, and on-location needs.
  • Order supplies for the Los Angeles Bureau and maintain inventory.
  • Oversee the schedule for the bureau's flash camera.
  • Fill in on the assignment desk as needed.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and other duties assigned by supervisors.
  • Stay informed on current news events to support coverage decisions.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
QualificationsQualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in production, especially in a newsroom
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnights, often under tight deadlines and with minimal notice (e.g., breaking news).
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Familiarity with newsroom operations and current events preferred.
