- Responsible for assembling Single Use Endoscope prototypes developed by the Module Development Team.
- Assembly work includes, but is not limited to, soldering micro coax cables, assembling micro-optics and mechanics, applying UV and heat-cure epoxies, and programming CMOS image sensors.
- Assists in identifying design features or assembly procedure improvements to reduce the cost of goods for Single Use Endoscopes.
- Provides support for the assembly of prototype endoscopes for ongoing development projects as needed.
- Serves as a master trainer for other R&D and manufacturing technicians.
- Reviews and suggests revisions (redlines) to technical drawings for accuracy and improvement.
- Drafts and reviews assembly procedures.
- Contributes to the development of fixtures to enhance assembly productivity and consistency.
- Review and modifies 3D CAD design files.
- Supports engineering leadership as required.
- Performs all additional duties as directed.
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum years of related experience: 15+ years
- Minimum years of endoscope assembly experience: 5+ years
- History of working for a medical device Research and Development group.
- History of working on a medical device production line.
- Proficient with micro mechanical assembly, including sub-mm sized components.
- Proficient with electrical assembly of 46AWG coax cables.
- Proficient with assembly of optical components used for micro CMOS camera systems.
- Solidworks working knowledge. Capable of using SolidWorks for reviewing designs and making basic modifications.
- Experience as a master trainer for a medical device manufacturer.
- Experience drafting assembly procedures of prototype medical devices.
- Experience reviewing design documentation and providing suggested redlines to enable high volume manufacturing with high quality.
- Experience / Knowledge of single use scope systems and technologies highly preferred.
- Capable of developing all deliverables required to document the product design with appropriate specificity to enable high volume manufacturing with high quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows Office applications including MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, etc..
- Knowledge of common manufacturing methodologies, technologies, and materials employed in medical devices.
- Ability and experienced in approaching challenging and/or ambiguous engineering problems with scientific logic and problem solving skills.
