Confidential Company | Fully RemoteWe’re seeking an experienced IBMi (DB2 for i) Database Administrator to support and manage enterprise-level database environments. This role involves performance tuning, capacity planning, data security, backup/recovery, and cross-functional collaboration with internal IT and development teams.Key Responsibilities:Maintain, optimize, and secure IBMi-based DB2 databasesSupport database performance, tuning, and availabilityManage capacity, indexing, and system maintenance tasksCollaborate with dev and infrastructure teams on schema design, tuning, and HA/DR strategiesEnsure compliance with regulatory standardsParticipate in OS upgrade planning and troubleshootingProvide database support in a 24/7 environment (on-call rotation)What We’re Looking For:10+ years of IT experience, with deep IBMi (OS/400) and DB2 for i expertiseIBM Certified DB2 for i Administrator preferredSkilled in SQL, indexing, query optimization, and backup strategiesFamiliarity with IBM Power Systems and job/work management tools (ACS, STRSQL, IBM Navigator, etc.)Experience with ILE RPG, ILE CL, Java, and SQL/PLStrong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skillsBonus: Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, Snowflake, cloud platforms, PHP, or Node.js
