Research Assistant (2-year contract)

- Contact and collect survey data from participants via telephone calls.*
- Serve as point-of-contact and interface with study participants regarding follow-up assessment issues.*
- Manage communication with study participants.
- Manage incentive disbursement, including documentation for auditing purposes.*
- Assist in oversight of data collection process, including regular quality monitoring.
- Analyze data and provide descriptive analysis for ongoing monitoring of data collection.
- Assist in oversight of research protocol and supervision of research participants to ensure adherence to protocol.
- Participate in research findings dissemination, including manuscript preparation and conference abstract submissions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in telephone interviewing is required and a comfort with connecting with participants via phone is a must.
- Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in an applied research setting, a plus if experienced in working directly in tobacco control or related area of substance abuse.
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Psychology, Public Health, or related field, with experience and/or training in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be experienced working in a research team, and ability to work independently.
- Previous experience with data management using R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, and/or Excel are a plus.
- This job requires excellent organizational skills, experience interacting with a diverse population, and exceptional attention to detail.
