Vaco Memphis is assisting our client in their search for Senior Accountant.Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
o Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients.
o Provide detailed variance analysis and reporting to clients, highlighting key financial insights and trends.
o Ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial records in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliations:
o Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of all transactions.
o Perform detailed account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, accounts payable/receivable, and other relevant financial accounts.
  • Tax Coordination:
o Prepare and review certain business tax filings, including sales tax, payroll taxes, and other local, state, and federal filings.
o Assist clients with tax planning, ensuring all necessary deductions and credits are utilized.
  • Client Management & Advisory:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding financial reporting matters, offering timely advice and recommendations.
o Collaborate with clients to identify financial goals and implement strategies and custom reporting to meet those objectives.
o Support system implementations, integrations, and other client specific projects to encourage adherence to industry standards and KPI’s
  • Management:
o Responsible for execution and review of daily bookkeeping functions performed by staff which include:
- AP data entry, bill submission, bill payments
- AR data entry, aging reports, cash receipts
- Time entry, payroll approval, payroll processing, payroll tax payments
- General administrative client requests
o Provide guidance to accounting staff, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Process Improvement:
o Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
o Stay updated on industry best practices and recommend enhancements to improve operational efficiency.Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
