- Ensure all Non-Vegetable Supplier Program FSQA programs and procedures are being followed and implemented correctly.
- Perform approval and re-approval audits of non-vegetable suppliers according to the requirements of the FSQA Non-Vegetable Supplier Approval Program.
- Ensure practices and protocols of all non-vegetable suppliers are up to date and adhere to all current regulatory guidance as well as corporate requirements and standards.
- Provides oversight and follow-up on corrective actions required of non-vegetable suppliers.
- Works with non-vegetable suppliers to investigate and address customer or consumer complaints related to the product provided to Dole.
- Work with cross-functional teams regarding the onboarding of new commodities and suppliers.
- Process large volumes of data or information and communicate recommendations for further improvement to mitigate FSQA risk.
- Effectively communicate scientific and technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Be aware of, and adhere to, US FDA, USDA, FSMA, and SFC regulations and guidelines associated with all supply chain elements within the area of responsibility.
- Execute projects that meet the technical and business objectives of Dole Fresh Vegetables.
- Assist in responding to customer requests, surveys, and other inquiries.
- Must be willing to travel to various regions
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2-3 years in the food industry; experience in food safety, quality, or technical support in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in executing food safety and quality programs or work experience in an organization with strong Food Safety and Quality systems.
- Working knowledge of food technology, food processing, and microbiology.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HARPC, Federal/State food regulations, and audit schemes, and ability to conduct food safety audits.
- Strong computer/statistical skills, particularly as related to data collection, manipulation, and reporting
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong auditing skills.
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse workforce.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Must have the ability to make decisions, appear for work on time, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand, and follow posted work rules/procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to work and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel independently.
- Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment.
- Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and hours.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field required
- HACCP Certification, PCQI, and Food Fraud Training preferred
