
Assistant Project Manager - Base Building - NoVA/DC Metro

- Assisting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from pre-construction through close-out.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely project delivery.
- Preparing and managing submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contracts for accuracy and scope alignment.
- Tracking project costs and managing billing, invoices, and pay applications.
- Maintaining project documentation, including meeting minutes, logs, and reports.
- Communicating project updates and issues to stakeholders and team members.
- Assisting in resolving conflicts and addressing issues that may impact the project timeline or budget.
- Participating in procurement efforts, including soliciting bids and reviewing proposals.
- Supporting site coordination with the Superintendent to align field and office efforts.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Monitoring project performance and helping identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Preparing close-out documentation, including warranties, as-builts, and final reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2-5 years of experience in construction project coordination or management support roles.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or Primavera).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with project scheduling and cost tracking tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Strong base salary commensurate with experience.
- Lucrative annual bonus potential typically between 30% and 90%.
