- Architect Scalable Solutions: Design and document secure, scalable software architecture for our healthcare payments platform, including APIs, data pipelines, and user-facing applications.
- Lead Technology Direction: Guide architectural decisions and priorities through a cross-functional architecture council and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams.
- Mentor & Set Standards: Establish engineering best practices and mentor development teams on system design, performance, and maintainability.
- Drive Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies—including GenAI—aligned with long-term platform goals.
- Hands-On Contribution: Build proof-of-concepts and contribute to high-impact features to validate architectural direction.
- Integrations & Security: Oversee integrations with EHRs and external systems while ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Governance & Quality: Participate in architecture and code reviews to uphold standards and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in an architecture leadership role
- Experience in healthcare or fintech domains, with working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, etc. preferred
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP required)
- Open to candidates outside the traditional LAMP stack, but PHP, MySQL, and AWS/Google Cloud experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience designing microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., PHP, Node.js, or similar)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Direct experience with major EHR vendors (Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
- Exposure to generative AI, machine learning, or analytics platforms
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Familiarity with broader privacy frameworks (e.g., 21st Century Cures Act, GDPR)
