
Youth Support Specialist

- Assist the client (child/youth) to develop and apply skills in a natural setting.
- Provide planned and/or crisis respite services.
- Assist with the building of developmentally appropriate skills to promote personal and community competence.
- Increase the social and interpersonal skills of the client (child/youth).
- Provide services to the client within an individual and group settings within the community.
- Services provided can take place during the day, weekdays and/or weekends.
- Will work with the client in a range of settings to include where they live, socialize, work, attend school and at the agency's facility.
- Responsible for the delivery & proper documenting of services in accordance with Medicaid billing and our agency standards.
- Collaborate with service providers that may play a role in the established treatment plan and the continued planning of the client's care.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and trauma-informed practice by integrating the understanding into the daily responsibilities.
- Attend weekly supervision meetings with the direct Supervisor.
- Participate in mandatory and recommended training programs.
- Education: minimum of High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or Technical School is required.
- Experience: related experience working with at-risk youth or youth with mental health/special needs.
- Transportation: must have access to private transportation.
- License: Valid NYS Driver License
- Telecommute: ability to telecommute
- Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word & Excel
- Work experience within a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
