SummaryThe Program Director - Finance/Productivity is responsible for all aspects of benchmarking and productivity for Confluence Health including maintenance of the System’s productivity solutions, utilizing standard productivity benchmarks based on National guidelines, ensuring integrity of productivity data across all solutions, producing actionable and timely productivity reporting, and identification of productivity opportunities and solutions.Position Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Essential Functions
- Supports the VP-Finance and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members in developing and implementing productivity strategies that support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of departments and programs as well as producing and maintaining measurable financial improvements.
- Maintains the System’s productivity solutions including data integrity, benchmarking, productivity monitoring, tracking, and reporting systems.
- Utilizes data analysis software and/or other relevant methods to access/extract data in relational databases and maintain technical expertise.
- Provides key analysis and evaluation of performance to support operations and improvement and other performance management efforts.
- Works directly with the regional finance teams to identify opportunities and develop operational procedures that support the System’s productivity strategies.
- Coordinates with the regional finance teams, create and implement processes, tools, productivity and staffing education, training and resources that enable department leaders and teams to understand and interpret data and use the tools to improve productivity.
- Understands and apply industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to productivity tools, financial analysis, auditing, and reporting.
- Utilizes tools, resources and benchmarks that consider the variety of production-based operations/staff that exist across the System like research, health plan, care delivery, acute, ambulatory, etc. and recognize the need for minimum administrative staffing.
- Understands, presents and explains complex financial, clinical and productivity data in a clear and understandable manner.
- Participates on appropriate committees, teams, and meetings to provide regular metrics on productivity, staffing grids, productivity opportunities and proposed solutions.
- Performs timely and accurate benchmarking audits, data submission, report generation and associated leader education regarding report interpretation and improvement opportunity identification.
- Ensures consistency between the productivity solutions and the labor budget process and develop productivity targets.
- Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position.
- Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, healthcare management or a minimum of four years in productivity role in addition to experience below will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
- Four years of experience in finance, economics, healthcare management or related area to include two years’ experience in a healthcare financial planning and analysis or productivity position.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and written communication skills and with customer service, project
- Master’s Degree In finance, business administration, economics, healthcare management or related field.
- Three to five years in equivalent role with an emphasis on productivity.
- Experience in a healthcare environment and computer systems preferred.
- Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association certification awarded by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- General office environment.
