- Preparation and analyze financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports) to reflect the plant’s performance and financial position.
- Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and help management track performance against targets. This includes monitoring manufacturing costs and capital expenditures.
- Track, control, and reduce production costs, as well as allocating labor, overhead, and material costs to specific product lines.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, processes, and internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, and inefficiency.
- Oversee accurate valuation and reporting of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory. Manage and oversee cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial performance, including costs, margins, and plant efficiency, and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Support product pricing strategies by analyzing production costs and advising on optimal pricing levels.
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulations and accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve the plant’s profitability by controlling costs and improving efficiencies.
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve financial performance and ensure decisions are aligned with financial goals.
- Develop, update, and enhance accounting system for optimum accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
- Assist with ERP modifications.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of financial and operational data and provide actionable insights to management.
- Ability to address financial issues proactively, such as discrepancies in costs or variances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Understanding of manufacturing workflows, cost structures, and how different processes impact financial results.
- Ability to effectively communicate financial results and insights to non-financial stakeholders, including plant managers and senior leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, especially during month-end close periods or budget cycles.
- High attention to financial accuracy and cost monitoring.
- Able to take initiative in identifying problems and implementing solutions.
- Works well in cross-functional teams to meet plant goals.
- Demonstrates integrity and upholds accounting standards and financial regulations.
