Laboratory AssistantPosition OverviewThe Laboratory Assistant supports Laboratory Analysts by performing routine tasks that ensure smooth lab operations. This entry-level role is designed for individuals with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a regulated lab environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in sample preparation and testing for various water types (groundwater, drinking water, surface water, wastewater, stormwater).
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, including cleaning glassware and organizing supplies.
  • Support data entry and documentation in accordance with lab protocols.
  • Handle hazardous materials safely and follow disposal procedures.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and assist with inventory and equipment maintenance.
Preferred Skills
  • Basic understanding of lab procedures and safety standards.
  • Ability to follow written protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with specimen handling or lab instrumentation is a plus.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • May involve standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Clean zone protocols may apply (e.g., lab coats, safety glasses).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
