- Responsible for motivating, reenforcing and ensuring that everyone works safely and according to the stow's QSHE standards, policies, instructions, and local legislation.
- Rigorously applies the principles of lean manufacturing and implements continuous improvements in the organization to ensure that all work is done in the most safe and efficient way with output of high quality.
- Executes the production planning and organizing production schedules in line with the deadlines, while controlling costs and quality.
- Ensures that the production data in our ERP and MES system is up to date and correct. Frequently, monitors the production indicators (output, efficiency, downtime, etc.) to immediately initiate corrective actions if required.
- Implements work methods and instruction, always considering the optimization of production, performance, output and quality.
- Initiates and drives the production modernization projects to reduce costs, adaptation to new products, ergonomic improvements etc.
- Works closely with purchasing to select, order and procure components and other consumables for production.
- Implements and organizes autonomous maintenance and 5S, and always maintains a clean plant.
- Manages, supervises and mentors his/her team. Develops the skills of his/her staff, identifies and promotes talent (cross training, career development, know how transfer etc.).
- Stays up to date with latest best practices and concepts in production management. Carries out continuous research to discover ways of improving the existing production processes and utilizes cost-benefit analytical techniques to validate the implementation.
- Establishes and maintains, together with the other managers, a positive work environment. Ensures a good work spirit on the shop floor and in the office, and supports team work.
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering in steel manufacturing operation with leadership experience
- Strong theoretical and hands-on knowledge of industrial mechanics, process engineering and maintenance of industrial equipment
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft 365 tools; CAD would be a plus
- Comfortable working with a multi-cultural, international team
- Effective leader with excellent people management and communication skills, and a strong team player
