- Manage the mixing of raw materials to create finished products according to batch sheets, maintaining a thorough understanding of all company products and mixing equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment and tanks, coordinating cleaning schedules as needed.
- Oversee the transfer of finished products into pails, drums, and totes, to complete orders, while maintaining accurate inventory records and labeling of containers.
- Operate manufacturing equipment, including tanks, mixers, scales, meters, pumps, and forklifts, with proficiency and adherence to safety standards.
- Complete all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner, submitting finished product samples to the lab for approval.
- Monitor and improve productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost – conscious manner.
- Anticipate events / issues / situations and rectify them before problems develop.
- Function as a team member with other plant and company departments.
- Lead and motivate by example.
- Challenge manufacturing systems for continuous improvement.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a blending or mixing environment preferable Coating & Ink industry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, GED
- Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, including safety rules, operating procedures, batch recipes, and material identification.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurements and conversions.
- Proficiency in handling 55-gallon drums and other containers weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Forklift certification and basic computer skills are required.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
