- Program Outcomes: Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through diverse teaching methods, including classroom, online, and clinical settings.
- Curricular Innovations: Develop and revise course materials annually, ensuring they meet the highest standards of educational excellence.
- Autonomous Teaching: Take full responsibility for your teaching load, delivering high-quality education independently.
- Clinical Supervision: Monitor clinical agencies for suitability, plan clinical experiences, and provide direct and indirect supervision of nursing students.
- Preceptor Coordination: Collaborate with clinical agencies and University departments to oversee and evaluate clinical preceptors and mentors.
- Student Feedback & Remediation: Offer constructive feedback based on course outcomes and provide remediation as needed.
- Communication: Keep students informed about agency and clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Student Development: Serve as a positive role model, assisting students in their professional and social growth.
- Faculty Leadership: Mentor new faculty members and lead by example in customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
- Professional Activities: Engage in professional activities outside the University to stay current in the field.
- Service Contributions: Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of University programs and philosophy.
- Academic Advisement: Provide academic counseling and advisement to students, addressing potential and real concerns.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and evaluation of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies.
- Program Evaluation: Facilitate student and graduate evaluations of curriculum and teaching effectiveness.
- Budget Recommendations: Offer insights on budgetary needs to program leaders.
- Committee Work: Chair or serve on University committees and work groups, contributing to accreditation preparation and continuous quality improvement.
- Course Coordination: Act as course coordinator, lead, or Subject Matter Expert (SME), documenting actions taken in faculty and committee meetings.
- Scholarly Teaching: Demonstrate scholarship through teaching, discovery, application, or integration, keeping course materials current and evidence-based.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting is required.
- Licensure: Active professional nurse licensure is required.
- State-Specific Requirements: Please refer to the # for any additional requirements applicable to your designated specialty.
- Credential Maintenance: Must maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, as appropriate, based on assignment.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, high level of initiative, and sound judgment are essential.
