
Lead Material Handler

- Ensure the safety of all employees, visitors, customers, and contractors within the facility.
- Perform pre-shift and end-of-shift inspections, escalating discrepancies as needed.
- Confirm that the team has required PPE and that it is properly worn.
- Conduct and support Lucid Production System (LPS) audits for manual handling, driving standards, and SOP compliance.
- Respond promptly to safety incidents; identify and communicate safety risks.
- Create daily job rotation schedules to balance workload and maximize efficiency.
- Lead daily team huddles to communicate priorities, updates, and performance goals.
- Coordinate on-the-job and classroom training to build skillsets and maintain required certifications.
- Ensure all training is conducted by certified trainers using approved methodologies.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve overall team performance.
- Oversee the movement of raw materials and finished goods in coordination with Logistics Management to support production requirements.
- Manage check-in/check-out processes to control inventory access.
- Monitor goods movement within and between departments, ensuring accurate recording.
- Optimize warehouse layout, dock usage, and truck loading patterns to reduce waste.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet daily operational needs.
- Lead accurate inventory counts through cycle counts, ABC analysis, and physical inventory.
- Conduct wall-to-wall inventories, mandatory cycle counts, and investigations into variances.
- Monitor and update inventory housekeeping; manage returns and damaged product handling.
- Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for inbound/outbound shipments.
- Control and resolve inventory discrepancies and validate adjustments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Promote and enforce 6S standards throughout shifts.
- Recognize and celebrate team and individual achievements.
- Proven leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures, warehouse operations, and inventory control.
- Skilled in training, coaching, and performance management.
- Proficient with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Material handling equipment (MHE) certification preferred
- First Aid/Fire Marshall qualification (desirable).
- Able to be flexible with work schedule (to include evenings and weekends, as needed)
- Basic SAP knowledge
