As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and controlling access points. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols of assigned areas, remaining visible to help deter unauthorized activity, and providing exceptional customer service to all personnel and visitors. You will utilize computer or tablet systems to manage access control and may interact with alarm panels as part of your daily duties.   • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and/or visitors.
  • Assist with the implementation of site-specific security-related procedures and policies as directed by Allied Universal and client management.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting employees and/or visitors in a professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client requirements.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations and coordinating with first responders.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment within the manufacturing and industrial location.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
