Our Mission is to perpetuate the wildlife resources of the state, to provide a quality state parks system, and to provide enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that educate and inspire current and future generations to serve as active stewards of Colorado's natural resources.This position will serve as a customer service representative at the CPW Fort Collins Service Center to assist members of the public with their inquiries and purchases. Customer service representatives represent CPW through excellent customer service and proper communication of accurate information to build constituent support and understanding of CPW and its mission. Primary job responsibilities include providing detailed information on a wide range of topics to CPW constituents in person, by phone, and electronically. Job responsibilities can include:Providing information on hunting for big game, small game, waterfowl, and turkey, fishing, visiting state parks, boating, and other outdoor recreational activitiesSelling CPW products such as hunting and fishing licenses, boat, OHV, and snowmobile registrations and permits, and park passesInterpreting CPW regulations, policies, and State StatutesAddressing nuisance wildlife concerns and providing information on co-existing with with wildlifeServing as the customer interface to wildlife officers by handling and dispatching public calls about wildlife violations, injured wildlife, and human-wildlife conflictsFilling Hunter Education Class supply ordersPerforming Chronic Wasting Disease and Mandatory checks on hunter harvested animalsStocking regulation and educational brochuresSorting mail and other office administrative dutiesOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsMust be 18 years of age or olderMust have a current & valid drivers' license and/or reliable transportationThe work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check.Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pmPrevious experience handling money and working with the public preferred.Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service.Basic computer skills required (MS Office Suite, Google App Suite)Ability to work well within a team.Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather.Preferred QualificationsBachelors of Science in Natural Resources, Fish, Wildlife, or Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or other natural resources related fieldExperience in customer serviceExperience with or knowledge of hunting, fishing, wildlife, camping, and the Northern Colorado areaExperience working with the general public in person, by phone, and emailFamiliarity with Colorado Parks and Wildlife's websitePossess a strong knowledge of computer fundamentals including Google SuiteStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to multi-task in a fast paced settingTeam PlayerDependableExcellent organizational and time management skillsThe State of Colorado strives to create a Colorado for All by building and maintaining workplaces that value and respect all Coloradans through a commitment to equal opportunity and hiring based on merit and fitness.The State is resolute in non-discriminatory practices in everything we do, including hiring, employment, and advancement opportunities.The State of Colorado believes that equity, diversity, and inclusion drive our success, and we encourage candidates from all identities, backgrounds, and abilities to apply.
