- Manages the delivery of individual projects and holds primary responsibility for the achievement of cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Identifies risks to the project and corporation and works with Project Directors and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
- Develops and maintains written preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, obtains review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates to the project team.
- Works closely with the Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against the target schedule and implement corrective actions against nonconformances.
- Monitors and reports project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
- Supports Project Executives, Director of Operations, and General Manager in the preparation of project delivery proposals.
- Works closely with the Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure that field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports.
- Manages changes to prime contracts, including change control documentation and related financial documentation.
- Coordinates with Accounting to invoice clients and manage Accounts Receivable to meet corporate goals.
- Works with the financial group to manage project financial issues.
- Monitors design content and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
- Prepares and manages subcontracts and purchase orders, including change control documentation and related financial documentation.
- Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience managing construction projects in life sciences environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device) and/or complex manufacturing facilities (e.g., GMP, pilot plants, laboratories, clean rooms, process utilities).
- Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
- Position may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
- Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on the assignment.
- You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
- Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying weather.
- This position is a safety-sensitive position.
- The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
