Operate and adjust packaging or manufacturing machinery under supervision.
Monitor processes and ensure material flow.
Check dimensions of parts according to technical drawings and make necessary corrections.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and machinery.JOB TITLE: Press Roll TenderSafety Requirements: Understand and comply with all Safety Policies and Programs. Maintain an organized work area by coordinating efforts with Dept personnel and Supervisors, completing all required housekeeping tasks and report unsafe working conditions.Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, twist, walk, stand, and climb for a period of a 12-hour shift. Also, must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs by reaching above and below shoulder height.Basic Job Requirements: Able to read roll tags and identify proper stock needed for the job that is running. Possess the potential and desire to train to be an Asst Press Operator.Job Tasks:Prepare rewind with proper sized core to accept the paper that is called for on each job. As each roll comes off, cut an appropriate size tear sheet for a quality inspection. Bring the tear sheet to the work table and look at it for register and good impression setting. Move rolls of paper into place for loading onto the unwind. Remove all roll labels and place them on the work table. Communicate with the material handler to remove printed rolls from the rewind after properly labeling them. Understand the quantity of rolls needed to produce each job and make sure the required number is brought to the press. Any deviations must be communicated to the Press Operator and/or Supervisor. Help maintain housekeeping around the press area including keeping the floors swept and the trash emptied. During change-overs, assist with any tasks as they relate to the press working as a team with the Operators to get the next job ready for set-up. As time permits, train on basic Press Operator duties to work toward achieving 2nd Pressman status.
