This position is responsible for managing project phases, working with project teams, integrating new and existing data sets to perform various analyses, preparation of paper and electronic deliverables, establishing systems, and analyzing processes for internal and external clients.Key Responsibilities
  • Provides GIS training and technical expertise support to department staff.
  • Provides project coordination for specific GIS projects and implementation of other related new systems.
  • Identifies areas where change, use, or increased use of GIS systems would provide increased speed, accuracy or efficiency within the divisions.
  • Develops software standards for geo-referencing information.
  • Develops tools focused on process improvement and workflow automation (Python, Model Builder, etc.).
  • Trains and educates users on CAD and GIS programs and their effective usages.
  • Communicates with clients.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in GIS related field (Survey Technology, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science) or related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years job-related experience; Eight (8) + preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: GIS Certificate preferred.
Preferred QualificationsMust possess advanced technical breadth and depth in Geospatial data manipulation, management, and analysis. Must be proficient with CAD and GIS integration. Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and knowledge of application development concepts and programming languages a plus. Must be familiar with Autodesk, Bentley MicroStation, SQL/and Server infrastructure. Experience with UAV/Drone and Point cloud data preferred.Hands-on experience with the following is preferred:
  • Portal/ Server/ ArcGIS online (Web GIS)
  • Database management in an enterprise environment
  • Conceptualize project from start to finish
  • ArcGIS Desktop
  • Application development (WAB, Story Maps, custom apps)
  • Mobile application (Survey 123, Collector, geo form)
  • Cartography
  • Application of GIS in an AEC capacity
  • Use of ArcGIS Platform for statistical and network analysis
