  • You will troubleshoot Direct Digital Control systems to resolve problems connected with the overall planning, design or operation for an HVAC system.
  • You will make field investigations to collect data needed for designs and determine nature and condition of existing facilities.
  • You will analyze each element of the work process to determine the most efficient and economical method for accomplishing a given task or operation.
  • You will operate, analyze and utilize the DDC systems in the operation and maintenance of building controls and HVAC control systems applying diversified knowledge to typical or highly difficult assignments in a subject matter or functional areas.
  • You will troubleshoot systems and programming logic down to the component level using the Niagara interface and/or field panel software.
  • You will determine what should be done to provide, improve or restore services within the facilities.
  • You will be responsible for resolving DDC controls failure or unsatisfactory performance problems.
  • You will specialize in standards and methods of work, plans, coordinates and conducts engineering studies, which are extensive in scope, encompassing all or most all production shops within the Public Works Department.

QualificationsYour resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Making studies, analyzing, and calculating for the solution of problems connected with the overall planning, design or operation of a Direct Digital Control system; 2) Installing, programming, and commissioning of DDC systems in the field; 3) Inspecting newly installed or modified equipment and systems for conformance to performance requirements and resolving equipment failure or unsatisfactory performance problems. AND 4) Collecting data and preparing reports or correspondence to relay information to other parties.This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates.
