Create purchase orders in Client or S&L’s internal vendor management systems
Track material orders, deliveries in vendor management systems.
Expedite suppliers / subcontractors / engineering input, as appropriate
Coordinate and work closely with engineering project managers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and client personnel
Manage and administer the subcontract life cycle process for assigned projects
Support S&L clients in their procurement processes
Assist in evaluation of proposals from suppliers / subcontractors
Perform risk assessments on potential and existing subcontracts
Monitor and evaluate contract performance
Record keeping / document control with audit involvement
Processing vendor invoices for payment
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation of 3 days in our downtown Chicago office and 2 days working remotely from home.QualificationsEssential skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement and/or contract administration
Strong written, verbal, & people communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors as necessary
MS Office Suite proficiency
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Power industry experience supporting large power generation, substation or transmission line projects
CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) designation
Experience with Deltek Costpoint and MS Outlook
