Job Category: AO - Administration/OperationsJob Description:This position is responsible for leading projects that span across multiple teams of Church resources for the benefit of the Deseret Industries (D.I.) Division. Owns all aspects of executing moderate to complex projects from their inception to conclusion. Manages deliverables, risks, and project change requests throughout the full project development lifecycle to ensure successful project delivery. Verifies that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost, and achieves the desired benefits through piloting and strategic launch plans. Contributes to process improvement initiatives and improving project delivery in collaboration with the team's D.I. program manager.Responsibilities:Principal Responsibilities:Manages all aspects of multiple projects through the entire project life cycle to ensure they are aligned with the overall programs of the D.I. to and directly support the achievement of strategic objectives.Defines project scope and objectives through the charter approval process, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring operational, technical, and programmatic feasibility.Ensure resource availability through close collaboration and approval from region managers and store/unit managers to coordinate internal resources for proper execution of projects.Continually communicates and coordinates project objectives to all team members involved.Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress using Microsoft 365 tools.Facilitates and coordinates project-related activities of multiple project team members at the same time.Provides leadership for project teams either on-site and/or via Teams meetings by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.Monitors, tracks, and controls outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.Performs risk management to minimize project constraints and bottlenecks.Provides status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.Ensure that all projects are delivered according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.Works creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.Establishes practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature project management capabilities for the different resources teams and staff working groups.Develops and delivers proposals, requirements, documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project team, key stakeholders, and D.I. Leadership Council.Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises project contributors.Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and project management best practices.Qualifications:Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study (project management, business administration/management, etc.)3 to 5 years of experience planning, executing and overall start-to-finish project management.Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.Understanding of interdependence between technology, data, processes, operations, and people development needs.Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in data analytics and data visualization.Requirements:Demonstrates a strong blend of soft and hard project management skills, with a proven ability to effectively coordinate and prioritize multiple initiatives in time-sensitive environments - supported by exceptional interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence.Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and develop creative and collaborative approaches.Excellent leadership and communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills.Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of both D.I. associate and D.I. staff needs.Strong interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment.Decisiveness in providing integral recommendations for capitalizing on improvement opportunities, making decisions, and identifying priorities.Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common objective.Eagerness for acquiring new technical knowledge about project management methodologies and emerging AI technologies.Certifications: (preferred or willing to become certified in one or more of the following areas within the first year of employment)Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) - depending on experience.Change Management: Skills to manage change initiatives, assess impacts, engage stakeholders, and ensure successful adoption and sustainability.Work Locations & Schedule:Church Office BuildingDeseret Industries Division store/unit locationsTravel requirements: 5 to 10 nights per yearAbout Us:Church employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord's work.
