- Prioritize safety by adhering to corporate/local procedures and completing safety training on time, while managing projects alongside the Product Design Team and ensuring timely approval for all processes.
- Coordinate and participate in key meetings (kickoff, weekly status, scheduling) and workflows (SAP, Globus), driving process improvements and maintaining effective communication across all cross-functional teams.
- Act as a first point of contact for technical issues, managing team expectations, and serving as a positive role model, with a focus on reviewing proposals to capture scope accurately and maintaining project hours.
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced design team members, assist manufacturing, purchasing, and planning with drawing and materials list interpretations, and address shop issues related to drawings as needed.
- Engage in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of design tools, product improvements, and standards for turbomachinery products, potentially assisting with interviewing and onboarding new team members.
- Support the product line's success through collaboration with the solution development team on commercial offerings and performing miscellaneous duties as required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in rotating machinery, or an Associate Degree in drafting with 10+ years of design drafting and industry experience. Those with more experience may be eligible for a more senior level.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, ability to see the broader picture, and outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration across the organization.
- Exhibits the capacity to independently manage complex projects while maintaining enthusiasm and intensity whether working individually or as part of a team.
- Shows professionalism and tact in interactions at all levels, from management to clients, coupled with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced 2D/3D CAD, and familiar with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, reflecting solid digital literacy.
- Flexible and ready for domestic and international travel on short notice, anticipating about 5-15% travel requirement.
