- Operate and maintain press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine product specifications and production requirements
- Set up press brake machines, including selecting and installing appropriate tools and dies
- Adjust machine settings, such as pressure, speed, and feed rates, to optimize production and ensure quality output
- Perform precise measurements using various measuring tools and instruments to ensure conformity with specifications
- Apply trigonometric principles to calculate bend allowances, angles, and other critical dimensions
- Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and conformity to specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with press brake machines or production processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to optimize production flow and efficiency
- Document production data, including completed work orders, material usage, and quality control reports
- Train and mentor junior operators on proper press brake operation techniques and safety procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce waste
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team
- 5-10 years of experience as a Press Brake Operator in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in operating various types of press brake machines, including CNC-controlled equipment
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes
- Excellent blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Solid understanding and application of trigonometry in press brake operations
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Experience with different materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in metal fabrication is a plus
- Experience with CNC programming for press brake machines
