As an Engineering Manager, you'll be a technical leader and people manager, responsible for guiding the team to technical decisions for production services, helping prioritize and organize the team's work, and providing career growth and mentorship opportunities to your team. You will manage a group of 10+ software engineers and work closely with your design and product management counterparts to build user journeys that unleash the potential of our future customers.Essential ResponsibilitiesSupport and set the strategic direction for teams delivering software that contributes to our mission. You'll collaborate with senior leaders to ensure your team’s objectives align with the company’s long-term goals.Grow technical contributors to reach their full potential. Recruit and retain top talent in a fast-growing environment, partnering with the talent team to build high-performing engineering teams.Whether you're driving product growth, improving user adoption, scaling integrations, or enhancing developer tools, you'll own the delivery of high-impact projects that matter to our customers.Work closely with product, design, and other teams to create an engaging technical vision for your area. You'll resolve conflicts, drive alignment, and ensure your team’s work supports broader company objectives.Operate autonomously, prioritize effectively, and make judgment calls on complex, multi-team initiatives. Your ability to scope and lead projects will be key to your success.Responsible for the performance, security and reliability of all application development work. Take initiative, pick up work and / or delegate, and help the team deliver on what is needed.Manages work and projects on a day-to-day basis of a team supporting mobile, cloud, or other applications system development and testing. Tracks and acts upon work progress. Reviews and audits the technical work of members of the team. May manage work undertaken by contractors or third parties. Ensures compliance with development and other processes.Works within established compliance and governance procedures. Supports team members with compliance issues. Ensures that application development and production support processes and practices are compliant with corporate and regulatory standards (both domestic and international).Supports a continuous improvement mindset. Manages recommendations for improvements and encourages the team to do likewise.Provide technical guidance to Global Payments systems, customer requirements, and professional practice team members on technical issues.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.A minimum of 3 years of professional experience leading a medium sized (10+) team of software engineers, delivering cross-functional projects. You should have a track record of building high performing engineering teams from the ground up and mentoring leaders on technical tracks.A passion for aligning engineering initiatives with business goals. Deep understanding of industry trends and best practices.Experience working with peers in engineering, product, design, operations and customers to drive cross-functional alignment.A strong foundation as a hands-on software engineer, with experience in building resilient, reliable software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
