Our focus on technology, quality, and new ideas extends beyond our products, as we look to add diverse, dynamic, and dedicated people to our company.We are looking for an Advanced Controls Engineer to join our Critical Handling Solutions (CHS) business segment. This team specializes in designing and building a variety of high performance, high reliability custom crane and lifting equipment. We serve several diverse industries including aerospace, nuclear test laboratories, commercial nuclear plants, and various other industries that have a need for the most advanced lifting systems that are possible. Be a part of designing the machines that lift anything from F35 fighter jets to nuclear reactors, to rocket ships!Success CriteriaBringing a continuous learner mindset to work, the Advanced Control Engineer will design, develop, and drive control systems to produce industry-leading products and solutions. The work you'll do will typically be in partnership with our Senior Engineers, while providing a ton of opportunity for growth and development in working on independent projects.Your experience and interest in the following will set you apart and allow you to hit the ground running:
  • Program and debug complex software applications with a variety of platforms. Experience with Siemens PLCs a plus.
  • Develop software management documentation, including Software Design Descriptions (SDDs), Software Verification and Validation Plans (SVVPs), etc.
  • Create custom software under PAR Systems’ software quality program. Prior experience with NQA-1 quality requirements a plus.
  • While developing software, utilize experience, skills, and software tools track tasks, project requirements, and maintain version control of code.
  • Work closely with Controls Engineers to ensure selected hardware meets project requirements.
  • Desire to work as a committed team member during all phases of development including onsite integration when required.
  • Most importantly, have an interest in the design of large, custom machinery. We want people who are excited about what they do!

Our starting rate of pay for this salaried position is targeted at $85,000-105,000 annually.Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 3-8 years of software development experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery. Typically expect travel not to exceed 10%, but up to 25% travel may be required periodically.
